Summer Sampler 2017 ~ A Finished Quilt
This is it! Another excellent summer of stitching wrapped up in a beautiful new quilt. I'm so very happy with how this Summer Star Medallion came together. I think it is my favorite sampler yet!
I'm really pleased about how the ombre fabric selections ended up. All the fabrics I used are listed in this past blog post - they are all ombre fabrics by Vanessa Christenson of V & Co for Moda Fabrics. I even used the Ombre Sand for the binding (the same fabric as the flying geese and sawtooth star blocks, and the half square triangle border).
The quilt measures 70" x 70". The backing is also by Vanessa, a print called Spectrum.
I quilted my Summer Sampler on my BERNINA 770QE using my favorite quilting pattern. It's a simple free motion meandering using my BERNINA BSR foot. I love the consistent results - and even my husband noticed it and complimented it this time!
For those of you quilting along with us this summer, thank you so much for joining us. I truly had a great time seeing everyone's progress on Instagram and in our Facebook group. For the block designers, thank you so much for your wonderful patterns and beautiful stars. And for my partners Lee and Katie, thank you for being the best friends anyone could ask for in the quilty world!
If you didn't have time to quilt along with us over the summer, you can still buy the pattern in Lee's shop. And this time you won't have to wait each week for the next pattern. They are all available to you once you place your order.
Here's to snuggling under a new quilt this Fall!
