Patchwork Dreamer
Hello everyone! Wow, it's been a bit of time since I posted here. I promise I haven't been slacking TOO much.... I've been having a great summer with my kids, spending time outdoors and on vacation. We went to northern Michigan for a week and the Florida panhandle for two weeks. Great memories! I've also been putting in a lot of design/pattern writing hours on projects related to our Summer Sampler 2017 quilt along (final quilt top assembly coming very soon!) and some other fun upcoming projects.
I realized I never shared my second teacher quilt I made last spring. This quilt was gifted to my daughter's 4th grade teacher. My daughter helped pick the fabric (Dreamer by Carrie Bloomston, with a few fabrics from Carrie's other lines worked in) and picked the design. She opted for a simple patchwork design and I have to say, I love it! It is so bright and fun and lets the fabric shine. I love the painted look of the fabric, as well as Carrie's incorporation of newsprint and text.
The binding is a scrappy mix of prints. I quilted this in a free motion meandering design using my BERNINA's BSR (BERNINA stitch regulator).
Hopefully you all have been enjoying the summer too. School starts here in 13 days! It goes fast and I will miss the laziness of summer, but I'm looking forward to getting into a routine once again.
