Pagoda ~ Summer Sampler 2018
We have reached week 9 - the half way point for our individual blocks in the Summer Sampler Series 2018 ~ Summer Road Trip quilt along! This week's block, designed by Lee Heinrich of Freshly Pieced, was inspired by the angular architecture of pagodas she visited during a trip to China.
This week's block is traditionally pieced and Lee wrote a lot of great nesting seams into the pattern. I love those because it makes getting those perfect points so easy.
I'm using mostly fabrics by Carolyn Friedlander for my blocks, but I wish I had gone into my stash for a lighter orange instead of that peach/white cross hatch. I think it's just a bit too close to the white of the background. But oh well, live and learn! I think it will be just fine when mixed in with the other 17 blocks. I am loving seeing everyone's blocks on Instagram and in the Facebook group!
