Heatwave

Block 19 of the Summer Sampler Series quilt along is Heatwave! This block, designed by one of my cohosts Lee Heinrich, focuses on…you guessed it…flying geese! Check out that chevron in the middle. Those are teenie tiny baby flying geese that were created using an awesome paper piecing technique. There is no way I would have been able to piece that center unit this accurately using the traditional method.

It’s not too late to join in the fun with us this summer. (It’s actually never too late!) . When you sign up, you will immediately receive all the block patterns to date. For the late comers, I’d recommend starting with the current week’s block and then making the past blocks in your spare time.
