I am excited / nervous for Week 3's block of the Summer Sampler Series. Meet Southwest Highway by Katie Pedersen of Sew Katie Did. Katie's block is inspired by the mountains of New Mexico.

So why am I a wee bit nervous? This week marks our first Foundation Paper Pieced block. For those of you who have quilted along with us before, you will breeze right through this one. For those of you who are new to the technique, I made "How to Paper Piece this Block" video for you! I hope you find it helpful. You may want to watch the whole thing through before getting started.

This week's tip is to mark your fabric colors on your paper piecing templates before getting started. It's nice to have the words right there when you are trying to remember which color comes next.
