Solids and Celebrations
I've been saying for a while now that I don't have many solids. I've always felt that buying a solid here and there just isn't as exciting as buying a stack of Amy Butler or Anna Maria Horner. Well, you can't say the picture above isn't exciting! I finally broke down and ordered a whole slew of 1/2 yard Kona colors from Pink Chalk Fabrics. And they happened to arrive today - my birthday!
But my real birthday present is coming later this week. (And Christmas present, and the next birthday and Christmas, and so on...) I was actually hoping it would arrive today and was going to wait to post about it until I got the call....but over the weekend I purchased a new sewing machine. Bernina was having a big financing sale, 1 day only. Zero interest with equal payments over 48 months. So I bought the machine I have been looking at for a long time, the Bernina Aurora 440QEE. I plan on using it for my One Lil' Cupcake business, as well as for my quilting. I'm VERY excited and will do the big "unpackaging" post when it arrives.
I haven't forgotten about my fall quilt. I've been waiting for the new machine to come to start quilting it. I also have another MoMo Wonderland quilt finished and waiting to be quilted.
After those, I have been asked by my husband's cousin to make a quilt for her toddler son's bed and I also am going to make an advent calendar, courtesy of Oh Fransson's tutorial! Busy, busy, busy!
