Once Upon a Time...
I feel like I've been making a lot of princess quilts lately...is that strange? I will blame it partially on Heather Ross, who keeps coming out with the most adorable fabric lines! Her latest is Far, Far Away Chapter 2, a followup to her Far, Far Away line which I used to make my daughter a Princess and the Pea quilt.
I bought FQ sets of all 3 colorways and am definitely not regretting it. The fabric is a linen/cotton blend which makes it thicker than quilting cotton, similar to Echino if you have worked with that fabric. It is a lot easier to work with than the double gauze of Far, Far Away. I would picture quilts made from this fabric as great playmats or picnic blankets.
So, this is a start to what I'm creating. I think the large prints work well with this type of block, especially Rapunzel. After spending some quality time with my Kona Color Chart yesterday morning, I have some solids coming as well which I plan to incorporate into some blocks.
And don't worry, I am still chugging away on my Lemon Squares Quilt and pattern. I have about half the blocks finished!
