Olfa Splash Rotary Cutter
Last month, Olfa contacted me and asked if I was interested in trying out their new rotary cutter, the Splash. I'm already a huge Olfa fan. Honestly, I didn't even know other companies made rotary cutters until I went to a few conferences and used some in various classes. That just reinforced my love for my Olfa cutter.
I was curious to try this new cutter, not because of the new aqua color (although it is very pretty in my sewing room), but because it has a quick change way to switch out the blade. No screws!
I knew as soon as I saw the cutter though, I was probably going to be a bit challenged using it. I am a creature of habit, and I use the ergonomic cutter. It's the style I've used for the last 4 years.
So...it was hard for me to try a different design. But I know a lot of people do use this style of cutter from Olfa. If you do, you will have no trouble at all.
I did want to try out the blade switch. It was just as easy as they advertised. You just slide down the little yellow latch on the back and magic! The blade removes and can be easily replaced.
My overall thoughts are same great cutter, super pretty color, and now easier blade changing which is a good thing. I'd love to see this feature on the ergonomic cutter too!
