New Wall Art
For the first time in what feels like a *really* long time, I don't have any projects that I have to work on. It's a great feeling. I decided to get my sewing room in order today and hang a few pictures that have been leaning on my shelves for months.
Last year I embroidered the above linen with the intent on hanging it up in my sewing space. (The embroidery pattern is one of many I have by the super talented Cynthia of Meringue Designs.) But then I painted the room tan. The same color as the linen. I really wanted the embroidery to pop so today I took a deep breath and cut into my Flea Market Fancy fabric to create a little patchwork frame. Oh how I wish this fabric would be rereleased! I just love how it turned out. Now I can see some of my favorite fabric every day.
I thought I'd share a photo of my shelves in my sewing space. The shelving unit and baskets are from Ikea. I'll add notes to the photo in Flickr explaining what is in all those baskets. Believe it or not, it's *not* my fabric stash! Those are all in plastic tubs. Now that I'm all tidied up, I can't wait to get going on more projects for me now!
