Loominous by Anna Maria Horner
This past weekend was Quilt Market up in Minneapolis. I didn't go this time around, but I had so much fun watching everything unfold on Instagram. As usual, Anna Maria Horner's booth made my jaw drop. And seeing her woven Loominous display made me very, very happy that I just splurged on a fat quarter bundle! Which happened to arrive last Friday!
Loominous is described as yarn dyes, and most of the fabrics feel more soft and drapey than traditional quilting cottons. Some of the designs have metallics in them - very cool. This isn't "the usual" fabric I work with - but as always Anna Maria knows what I want before I even do. I think they would be awesome for quilts or clothing - I'm starting with a quilt.
I find it pretty much impossible to resist buying her full collections. But if I had to pick favorites, it would be these two pieces.
Loominous is just starting to pop up in shops (and I've noticed, selling out just as quickly!) You can currently find some at a couple of my sponsors:
Now to figure out the perfect design to showcase these designs!
