Latitude Lattice
As I type this post this morning, I have a visual of me standing with a microphone, tapping it..."is this thing on?" Wow, I haven't blogged in over a month! Hopefully some of you are still with me. :) I've slowed down a bit over the last few weeks - enjoying time with my family and puppy, doing some baking, crafting with my kids, plotting and seed-starting for my garden. It's been fun! This doesn't mean I've left my sewing machine. Here and there I've been planning and stitching some gift-quilts. The first uses beautiful fabric from the talented Kate Spain, called Latitude.
It's generally really hard for me to decide on a fabric and quilt design for a gift quilt. I second, third, and fourth guess myself the entire way. But I have loved this fabric every since I saw it, and I hope the recipient will too.
I'm using the Lattice quilt tutorial from Kati at From the Blue Chair. It's the perfect pattern to use with a jelly roll. Kati provides a template for marking your ruler. It makes for easy trimming (and no paper piecing).
I've been busy chain piecing and have finished the initial piecing of all my blocks.
I'm going to spend this snowy Monday ironing and trimming everything. Then time for layout!
Hopefully I will check back in soon with my finished quilt top!
