International Quilt Festival
This weekend was the International Quilt Festival in Chicago. The show hasn't been in Chicago for the last couple of years, so we were excited to have it back. My parents came in town for the show and I also met up with Lee. It was a great day!
One cool part of the day - my Naperville Modern Quilt Guild had a special exhibit!
Our guild had a log cabin challenge several months ago. We all were challenged to make a 36" square quilt using log cabin blocks in a modern way. I made my Confetti Logs quilt. Here it is in the show!
The Modern Quilt Guild Showcase was also in the show. (I had been lucky enough to see it first in Cincinnati - such great quilts!) It was fun to see it again though with Lee, because she had a quilt on display as well.
My big show purchase was a new foot for my Bernina, #59 for piping. I know, I go crazy! ;)
Sunday, my parents went with us to Navy Pier before driving home. As you can probably tell, we had absolutely perfect weather. We went up in the Ferris Wheel for the first time. I was a bit scared. lol But great views!
This week I'll be quilting my deadline quilt, hopefully at least basting my Simply Style quilt, and then getting packed and ready for a sewing weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. Can't wait!
