Finally, Finally, Finally...Far, Far Away Quilt
Wow...this quilt ended up quite large, didn't it? When I decided to use my prints from FFA by Heather Ross, I figured I would just use every bit of fabric I had because I didn't want any waste and the fabric was pricey. Well, that ended up creating a quilt that is larger than a twin! My daughter even said "mommy, that is a lot of material" when she initially saw the quilt top. Yes, that IS a lot of material! And don't I know it from quilting it!
The back is {ahem} heavily inspired by Ashley's Far, Far Away quilt back.
The Kona Cerise is a perfect match! I used Kona School Bus and white as well. I can't remember at the moment the turquoise color name. For another splash of color I used the last of my green unicorns.
The binding is mostly white as I didn't want to detract from the front. I pieced in some small left over FFA fabrics.
This is my biggest quilt to date, measuring about 72" X 88". The batting is Quilters Dream Request Loft...my favorite. It is quilted with straight horizontal lines, 1/4" on each side of the horizontal seams.
I'm glad I finished this quilt, considering FFA 2 is now out, it was becoming a bit of a monkey on my back. This quilt is a gift to my daughter who loves listening to The Princess and the Pea each night. She is in love and we have many plans to cuddle under it on the couch each evening during her pre-bed quiet time.
And I couldn't forget my little man, who didn't want to be left out of the quilt photo shoot.
