Improv Curves : Fresh Lemons Quilts

Finishing up my Picnic Point quilt motivated me to pick up another UFO ~ my improv curves quilt. I am following along with Sherri Lynn Wood's beautiful book, The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters. This quilt is obviously completely the opposite of my last finish, and I am so far outside my comfort zone.

Making the curved segments was actually easy and fun. Laying them all out and sewing them together has been a huge challenge for me. Thank goodness I know how to sew y-seams and partial seams!

Although I like sections of how this quilt is turning out, I'm not sure I'm crazy about how it is looking as a whole. But I'm going to keep on keeping on and finish it up. It's possible that I will warm up to it a bit more after it's quilted.
