Back to School
We are officially back to school here, and boy is it quiet in my house. Summer seemed to fly by this year. We had some ups and downs, are facing some new challenges that admittedly have slowed down my creative time over the last month, but overall we really enjoyed our quality time together over the last several weeks. Summer is typically a quiet season on the blog, but now that I have a few uninterrupted hours, I thought I'd share a hodge podge of fun stitchy things from the last couple months.
I signed up for the National Parks Birthday Club over at Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I was even lucky enough to score a National Parks needle minder! I'm hoping to add some cross stitch into my nightly mix and since we love National Parks in this house, this seemed like the perfect place to start.
I collected a bit of fabric over the summer, including these Rifle Paper Co prints for Cotton + Steel. I thought they looked perfect for fussy cutting.
My kids did an awesome job finishing up all their blocks for the Not Your Mama's Bee (quilting bee). I'm so proud of them for learning new skills and following through on a 14 month commitment. That's not even easy for an adult! I'm not going to lie, I'm also breathing a sigh of relief. Now for them to sew their bee blocks together to make their finished quilts!
I had fun pulling together another fabric bundle for Fabric Spark's Monthly Sparks program. Love these bright colors.
I've really enjoyed having the Summer Sampler 2016 to work on all summer. A block a week has been the perfect sewing commitment during these past few months. I'm looking forward now to turning a few quilts tops into quilts, continuing on my EPP journey and brainstorming my next pieced quilt project!
