Adventures in Paper Piecing - Take Two
A few months ago I decided to try my hand at some paper piecing. It went...ok. Fast forward several months and I found myself unable to stop thinking about the blocks that were being created in the Ringo Pie Bee. What a talented group of sewers. So I decided to try again, this time with my own design.
I drew up a set of spools to match my blog header. I'm not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed of the results. It's certainly not perfect. In fact, I think I could have done a better job if I just made it without a template instead of following the design I made on paper. I also should have shortened my stitch length because when I was removing the paper, I really think it pulled a lot on the seams. Sigh.... I may remake the whole thing. I don't know. If I do keep it, I plan to do random straight line quilting and hang it on my wall.
Have you made any blocks like this? I'd love to see your links!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you everyone for your kind words. I'm feeling better about it now. I think I will keep it and finish it up for my wall.
