Today I'm excited to share with you a fantastic Community Giving opportunity. This week is the Annual Action Kivu Fundraiser. For the last 5 years, Alissa Haight Carlton from Handmade by Alissa has hosted a fundraising effort to support Action Kivu.

"Action Kivu helps women and children who are victims of the conflict in Eastern Congo. One of the wonderful things that Action Kivu helps finance is a sewing workshop that teaches women to sew. When these women graduate from the workshop, they are given a sewing machine and therefore the means to support themselves and their families." - Alissa

This year's goal is to raise $15,000 by Friday, August 24th. For different giving amounts, you are entered to win prizes donated by amazing artists and quilters like Denyse Schmidt, Anna Maria Horner, Elizabeth Hartman, Jacquie Gering and more.
