A Nautical Quilt Top and New Bag Progress
I finished my Nautical quilt top! As I mentioned in my last post, this is a pattern by Allison over at Cluck Cluck Sew. There are lots of sizing options, but this is for a child and I chose the crib quilt. Thanks for all your suggestions on backing fabric! I ended up ordering some adorable whales from the Message in a Bottle collection, recommended by Kimber. Hopefully it arrives in the next couple of days and I can get basting!
I've also started making the Cargo Duffle pattern by Anna of Noodlehead. I was looking at the pattern and planning my fabrics, when my daughter sat down next to me. After about 30 seconds, I was roped into making a second duffle. Then my son notices what's going on. Yep, a third duffle. So I hope you like this bag, because you will probably be seeing a few of them come together on the blog!
I am using a print called Bare Nopal in Gloom from Morning Walk by Leah Duncan as my feature fabric, Essex linen in natural for my solid, and a print called Raspberry Jam from Basic Grey's PB&J collection for my pockets. I have a few zippers coming in the mail in the next few days, so once that arrives I will be able to finish up the first duffle. Can't wait to share more soon!
