A Fall Mini and Bee Blocks
My Fall Mini Quilt is complete. Thank you so much for your advice on the quilting. I ended up just keeping the quilting in one direction. I love how it looks draped on my sewing room couch, and I'm happy to have had a little project to work on last week as I prepped for my daughter's birthday this weekend.
I cut my squares 3" x 3" for this quilt and placed them on point. All the prints except one yellow are from Leah Duncan's fabric lines. The solid is an Essex linen (very easy to work with!).
My kids and I also wrapped up their September bee blocks for Not Your Mama's Bee. Yes, I somehow manage to spend hours at the sewing machine with that crazy character up there. :)
This month we sewed blocks for Jen's daughter. She requested string blocks from Ashley's tutorial, using navy, aqua, lime and purple. I think we nailed it! (My son's block looks smaller but that's just an optical illusion. They are both 12".)
I'm very excited for next week. I'm going to be making a quilt and writing a pattern for a quilt along that will be appearing on BERNINA's blog We All Sew sometime near the end of the month. I'll give sneak peeks along the way!
